Do you ever look in the mirror just a few hours after applying your makeup and you’ve barely got anything left on? Well we have got an easy solution for you…
Makeup PrimersWhat Are Makeup Primers?
Primers should be the first step in your makeup routine. They’re used to create a brilliantly smooth canvas on which to apply cosmetics. Whether you’re going for a full coverage finish, or a sheer glow using a BB cream. Using the appropriate primer for your skin will ensure that whatever you choose to use there after will adhere properly to the skin and in turn last all day.
As the saying goes “ one size doesn’t fit all” so luckily for us there are an array of primers that are area-specific and problem-specific, so whether you want to combat oily skin, diminish the appearance of fine lines, minimize large pores or really work on smoothing out the texture of your skin, there is something for everyone.
Primers are available in so many different formulas, whether it be gel, cream or powder and the properties really depend on the outcome you want. There are also different colored primers to combat redness, sallow skin and primers to warm the skin tone and complexion. Some people skip this step in makeup assuming it might not be necessary. However using a primer underneath your makeup will make everything last longer.
How do I decide which primer is best for me?
The trick is to distinguish your own skin type and then to decide on your desired finished look. So perhaps you have oily skin, but overall you’d like your makeup to look fairly matte. In this instance, apply a mattifying primer, such as the Thalgo Perfect Matte Fluid, before your chosen foundation. The Perfect Matte Fluid works by neutralising the effect of sebum in the skin whilst reducing shine and the appearance of enlarged pores.
Once you’ve found ‘the one’; you won’t look back!
